Ralph Preston

Ralph Preston began his career in the futures industry with Heritage West Financial, Inc. in 2003. Since 2005 he has served on the membership committee of the National Introducing Brokers Association - a position that has given him a unique and comprehensive perspective on the futures industry. A passion for the markets combined with an interest in domestic monetary policy and foreign affairs focusing on the Middle-East have made him a frequent contact with reporters from the Wall Street Journal and Thompson Reuters News and has led to numerous T.V. appearances. His primary focus is customer service and keeping open lines of communication with clients making him a backbone of the Heritage West team.


Doug McKay

Doug McKay has been assisting clients in managing their money in the capacity as a Registered Investment Advisor (series 65) since 1994 and as a series 3 licensed commodity broker since 2007. Originally from Chicago, he obtained his B.A. in business from the Arizona State. A passion for the ocean led Doug to San Diego. Doug is a strict chartist. This guides his philosophy on trading: "I’m always looking at the markets with a fresh perspective - this means no ‘buy & hold’ mentality, no piling money into mutual funds, and especially no herd mentality. This is a game of probabilities - cut your losses quickly and let your profits flow." Doug’s goal is to educate his clients in technical analysis and the emotional aspects of managing their own money so they can realize more success in trading and investing.


Alberto Moreno

Alberto Moreno is a veteran of 33 years in the financial services industry, with extensive experience in both the Domestic and International markets. Born in Caracas Venezuela, and having grown up in the New York/New Jersey area, Bert is fluent in both Spanish and English. He later attended American University in Washington DC where he graduated with a BSBA degree in Finance. He then moved to Chicago to pursue a career on the Trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange where he specialized in the design and execution of Futures and Options hedging strategies as well as Fixed Income securities portfolios for both Institutional and individual clients. Bert holds series 3, 7, 63, and 65 licenses. In addition to coverage of the traditional markets, Bert also has extensive experience in advising clients on managed futures investments strategies, for portfolio risk diversification..


Josh Barros

Josh Barros began his career in the futures industry in 2004. After servicing clients as both a wealth manager and stockbroker at major Wall Street firms such as Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo Advisors he founded his own commodity Introducing Brokerage and Commodity Trading Advisory firms. After nearly ten years on his own Josh joined the Heritage West team as a managed futures specialist in 2015. In this capacity Josh’s mission is to provide his clients access to superior non-correlated risk adjust returns. Josh’s past experience as a trading manager affords him a unique insight into the selection and construction of managed futures portfolios. Josh specializes in diversifying portfolios by targeting specific investment objectives and requirements with access to a full range of trading styles, strategies, volatility and exposure levels and timeframes.


John Turner

John Turner has been servicing clients in the financial arena in both securities and commodities for over 25 years. His experience has ranged from trading currency security options on the interbank market in Philadelphia, to futures and options on domestic and international exchanges to institutional bonds.  In today’s volatile economic and geopolitical climate navigating both bear and bull markets can be challenging. A 24/7 world demands attention. John offers personalized service, extensive experience and a seasoned perspective, keeping clients up to date with research, breaking news and opinions from around the globe. Acknowledging that each client is on a unique financial path John tailors trading and portfolio selection to his client’s individual needs and interests.


Steven Nimerov

Steven Nimerov made his way to the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 1976 after graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in political science. Starting as a runner and phone clerk, Steve quickly climbed the ranks and was soon placed at the FCM’S owner’s desk and watched, first hand, how an extremely successful trader read the markets using technical analysis and “market action”. Missing the excitement of the trading floor Steve became an Exchange member and returned as an independent trader, establishing the “NIM 1” fund that was funded by a number of professional floor traders.

After 35 years in Chicago, Steve moved to California to continue his career in the futures industry. Steve brings to the Heritage West team his seasoned experience and extensive repertoire of tools to assist his clients navigate the markets and execute their trading ideas.
